Web app, packaged
The application built as a web app and wrapped for Android, sized for phone screens first.
Service 03
We build web applications and package them for Android, then publish and maintain them on Google Play. Ten of our own are live right now. Read the next paragraph before you brief us — it matters.
Our Android apps are web applications wrapped for the Play Store, not native Kotlin or Java builds. That suits a great many projects: a client portal, a catalogue, a booking tool, a reader, an internal utility. It is the wrong choice for games, for heavy offline work, and for anything that needs deep device features. We say this before you hire us rather than after, and if your project needs native, we are the wrong vendor.
The release cycle. Store listing, policy compliance, content rating, signing, staged rollout, updates and the maintenance nobody budgets for. Several of our own apps were updated this month, years after launch. Publishing an app is easy once; keeping ten of them healthy is the part that takes discipline.
What's included
The application built as a web app and wrapped for Android, sized for phone screens first.
API, database and admin panel behind the app, if the project needs one.
Listing copy, assets, content rating, data-safety form and the policy questions that trip people up.
Google policy changes regularly and apps get pulled for falling behind. We keep up.
New versions, Android target-API bumps and fixes — the work that starts after day one.
Install and usage tracking, so the decision to keep investing is based on something.
How it runs
Step 01
First we tell you honestly whether a packaged web app suits the project. Sometimes the answer is no.
Step 02
Screens, backend needs, store requirements, fixed price and date, in writing.
Step 03
Built and tested on real Android devices, not only an emulator.
Step 04
Submitted, reviewed and live — on your developer account or ours, your call.
Questions
No. Android only. And we would warn you specifically against trying to put a packaged web app through Apple review: their guidelines exclude apps that are essentially a website wrapper, which Google Play permits. If you need iOS, you need a different approach and a different vendor.
No, and we will not let a brief imply otherwise. It is a web application packaged for the Play Store. For most business apps the user cannot tell; for games and device-heavy apps they absolutely can.
Three to four weeks for an app with a simple backend, including store publication. Google review time is outside our control, though it is usually days.
Either. On yours keeps the client relationship entirely with you, which most agencies prefer. On ours works too if you have no account.
Send the brief. You get a written scope with a fixed price and a date — no call required to find out what it costs.
